David Wenzel served as the 27th mayor of Scranton from 1986 - 1990. The treehouse was built by Forever Young Treehouses, Inc, as part of a project to construct a memorable and universally accessible treehouse in every state. Their primary goal is to make certain the treehouses can be enjoyed by children and young adults with special needs. More information on this noble project can be found at www.treehouses.org. |
This site is dedicated to creating and sharing a visual record that captures the distinctive character of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area and the Pocono Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. The neighboring cities of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre are often collectively referred to as EC/DC (as in Electric City/Diamond City). While historically known as the Electric City, Scranton is currently more famous for being home to a small but not insignificant branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

That huge treehouse is any child's wildest dream! Fun!
ReplyDeletehow cool is that! I checked out the link, I'd never heard of the project before. That would be fun if you were on a trip to stop in at the different treehouses, especially since they are accessible to everyone.
