Lackawanna County Courthouse

The county courthouse sits right in the center of  downtown Scranton.   Lackawanna county is one of 67 counties in Pennsylvania.  The building has a weighty physical presence that harkens back to the days when coal was king and Scranton was an important hub of the anthracite coal industry.

  1. Grand old building, indeed. It looks massive and very solid, like an earthquake won't make a single dent on it.

Welcome to the CDP community! Looking forward to learning more about (yet another) city that I know nothing about. :)

  2. Now I finally know what Scranton looks like! Up until now, I knew only that "The buses headed for Scranton travel in pairs"... (according to Ogden Nash)
